This page was like, one million times the amount of work a regular page takes. I should have gone for some weird, ultra modern library that's straight lines and blank walls and no damn windows at all. I will admit that I found a photo of a library I liked somewhere online and used that to get the basic shape and perspective of this place down, but it didn't come out resembling that library much at the end of things. Work smarter, not harder, kids.
I like coming up with scenes where these guys interact. It's sort of the classic wise guy/straight man trope, especially because Vincent is so serious. I imagine he'll lighten up eventually, though.
Of note, because I don't have a detailed About page yet (sorry, I'll get to character bios and shit eventually), is I finally decided on a name for our fictional town! They live in Crescent Lake, Michigan. Michigan has a lot of lakes, so that works out well, and you know, crescent like the moon. Puns are fun. It's not a very big university, like Michigan State, but probably a smaller, private university. Not gonna lie, I've based a lot of their town so far on a mini version of Ann Arbor. Probably smaller, but sort of an older city.
One of the weirdest things about writing this comic is that lately I keep hitting that wall of "oh my god, why the fuck am I doing this? I have no clue what I'm doing!", which I'm beginning to realize is just part of making anything creative. Like, no matter what you're making, it's never going to line up perfectly with this idealized version in your head, so the best you can do is try to get as close to that as possible. And I'm fairly certain no one else knows what they're doing either. Even if you get really good at something, there's always going to be doubt in there somewhere.
