Not gonna lie, after many years of writing a story about werewolves, it's still interesting to me the different ways turning into a giant hairy monster might affect people's lives. I wanted to keep Marcus's approach to the whole thing very chill, because he's not an excitable guy and he doesn't worry about it too much. He likes the feeling of being really strong and powerful, but he'd be happy as a human just the same. Harvey is kind of in a similar boat to Malaya was, but it's not that Harvey is worried about hurting people as a werewolf like Mal, but that she's deeply upset about the life she didn't have and she's still grieving. Other full moons would have probably been fine, but this one just hit at the wrong time and she's too melancholy to enjoy it.
Speaking of melancholy, I hope you all don't mind, but I've gotta take a week or so off this month to attend to life things! I'm going to post one page next week, and one page the following week, and we'll see if I need more time because it might end up being one page a week til September. I also have to motor through a lot of Kickstarter things. I have to finish the book cover, make some images for prints, design stickers, design the cover for the art book...so it's not really a break lol. BTW, for prints for this Kickstarter, since the second volume covers chapter 7, I'm thinking of doing some of the fashion designs from that mall chapter as prints. Does that vibe? I think it'd be cute, but maybe those designs are too old now lol
If you live in or around the Chicago area, I'll be at some library conventions coming up for the rest of the summer! The Eisenhower Library in Harwood Heights on Sept 14th, and Gail Borden Library in Elgin on Oct 19th. I'll keep social media updated closer to the events to remind people! I had to cancel on CAKE because I had another obligation that day! Sorry anyone who wanted to see me there. Pray for me, I don't usually leave the house for this many things lol
