We made it past the election, I've gotten most of my leaves raked in my yard, it's inexplicably 70 degrees outside (but I'm still wearing a sweater, because I refuse to acknowledge that my neighbor had the air conditioning on yesterday), and we're back to updating! Hooray!

One frustrating aspect of making a webcomic is I usually just have to plow ahead with whatever state a page is in, regardless if I think that I've made the best choices. I deliberated a lot more in early pages, and I think that's paid off over time, and I probably need to hunker down and be more critical of my layouts in the future. I struggled making that last panel work, and I think it ultimately does, but if I did it again, I'd possibly go for a more dynamic angle or something. Elias flying into the "camera" would have worked well, though this flatter composition is more clear what's happening, so who knows. It's a one off gag, not an entire werewolf battle, so clarity over style is maybe better in this instance. I really want that fun, dynamic anime comic energy, but wouldn't ya know, it's just not something I've ever quite figured out lol. I always default to things that are readable and clear over the frenetic energy you see in a lot of shonen manga, for example.

Anyway, I'm off to...do something. My county is kind of exploding for cases lately, so I guess it'll be a low key day taking walks or something.

I haven't forgotten about my idea for a contest yet!
