Vote over at TWC and you can see Charlene looking cute
I talked about this over on Twitter a few days ago, but it's odd as a writer reading writing advice. I was reading a Twitter thread about economical storytelling, and hooking up your scenes efficiently, and I realized that I kind of hate efficient writing! I have all the time I want to take, and it seems to be working for all of us, so the idea of lots of quick scenes versus scenes that have breathing room doesn't vibe with me. Technically, this scene is mostly Marisa waiting in line, which isn't terribly important, but I hate the idea of featuring the coffee shop and never showing anyone there. It wouldn't really make sense. We'd all be very worried about the Walter's family income if no one was ever at Red Moon.
Anyway, it's interesting writing these two interacting, because Marisa and Charlene have barely ever interacted really. Kind of on purpose, because Charlene is definitely an outsider. She's more attached to Mal's storyline than anyone else's, and up until now, there wasn't space for lots of focus on witches. But now there is! So now, I get to write that awkward "getting to know another person who's a sort of friendly acquaintance, but don't have a really fluidly communicate with yet."
Welp, I have had a WEEK so far, and I'm technically on quarantine until I get my coronavirus test results back in a few days (I don't have any reason to think I have it, but it's popping up like crazy here, so I figured a test after working the election was a good choice). I guess I'm going to go make myself into a person and then...relax? I'm not used to that concept, but it's worth a try, I guess.

I haven't forgotten about my idea for a contest yet! It got a bit waylaid because my life is chaos and I'm trying to get a million things done this month it seems, but we'll come back to it one day! In the meantime, there's new merch up at the Hivemill store. I added some new prints and tshirts finally, so if you like my comic and would like to support me, please go see if there's something you like! The shirts are American Apparel, so size up if you're not sure what size to get.
I made a TikTok? I haven't been using it really, but China already knows my whole life at this point anyway.
HTBAW Fandom Wiki is up and running! Thanks to Myk Streja for tons of help with moderation efforts and everyone else who's done a ton of work on adding information and filling out the Wiki. I know nothing about how this stuff works and I'm too old to learn :D.
Feel free to check out my goofy Amazon store if you're so inclined (this is an ad, as I get a tiny commission if you do buy something), or I have some merch up on Society6 if you're looking for my old store link! Thanks to everyone who's come out to support me through Ko-fi and Patreon!
