Today's voting incentive is a preview of where I'm currently at with the first volume cover :). (Though when I'll get around to actually printing this thing...IDK.)
Let it be noted, I can't just write a shopping montage without it morphing into a mental block that needs resolving lol.
If you've ever wondered, "how do I approach a scene where a woman is winding down from her day?" I can promise you that, unlike what movies would tell you, it probably involves taking her hair down and then wandering around in pajamas. None of this "let me gratuitously show off my underwear" nonsense. In this case, it involves taking her hair down and then going on a run, because apparently Malaya isn't ready to wind down yet. (And the anxiety doesn't even warrant changing out of work clothes first, which I think speaks to her frustration with herself.)
I miss having longer hair, sometimes, because there's something rather uniquely satisfying about taking down a French roll. I always went for a roll instead of a bun, because my hair is thin and slippery, so it would take like, 20 bobby pins to secure a bun, but only 4 or 5 to secure a roll. Then, when you take it down, your hair is one giant curl. But, I've finally given up on having long hair. I've given in to the shoulder-length bob, and my thin, fine hair handles the weight much better and actually kind of has volume now, so that's nice.
This has been more information than you needed to know about my hair. Have a good week, everyone!
